Private mentoring
Mentoring is ongoing, one-to-one support with a piece of writing you are working on, whether that is a novel, a collection of stories or poems, or something harder to name. It is separate from manuscript assessment: rather than a single written report on a finished draft, we work together over time.
Sessions can include feedback on new pages, setting goals and a realistic plan for the project, and conversations about craft: structure, voice, form and the reading that might help. I write experimental fiction and poetry, and I have taught undergraduate literary studies as an assistant lecturer at Monash University.
