A close read of your full manuscript with a detailed written report on structure, character, pacing and voice, plus clear, prioritised next steps.
Structural edit
Work on the shape of the book: structure, arc, pacing and consistency. Priced by word count; see the table below.
Copyedit
Line-by-line attention to clarity, consistency, grammar and style, in Australian English unless you prefer otherwise.
Proofread
A final check of the finished text for typos, punctuation and formatting slips before it goes out.

Which services do you offer?
Manuscript assessment, structural edit, copyedit and proofread. Each is priced by word count in the table above.
How are prices set, and do they include GST?
Prices are set by word count and service, as shown in the table. They are in Australian dollars and do not include GST. The minimum fee is A$150.
Are the prices fixed?
No. The prices in the table are indicative only, and all final invoices are subject to agreement.
How long will it take?
Turnaround depends on the service and the length of your manuscript. Each price in the table shows its turnaround underneath.
How do I book and pay?
Send an enquiry with a little about your manuscript. There is no online payment: once we have agreed the details, I issue an invoice by email.
Is mentoring part of editing?
No. Mentoring is a separate service, with its own page. It is ongoing, one-to-one support over time rather than a single report or edit.

What to send
- The kind of help you are after: an assessment, a structural edit, a copyedit or a proofread.
- The length of your work, roughly, in words. “Not sure yet” is a fine answer.
- What the piece is, and anything you would like me to pay particular attention to.
- Any date you are working towards. Rush turnaround may be possible for an extra 25%; ask in your enquiry.
What happens next
- I read your enquiry and reply by email. Your details are used only to reply to you.
- Sending an enquiry is not a booking, and nothing is charged.
- A confirmed price and turnaround for your project.
